Wednesday 31st, 7 – 8:30 pm CHRISTIAN THEMES and SPIRITUALITY in J.R.R. TOLKIEN’S THE HOBBIT. With an eye to the upcoming opening of Peter Jackson’s film, The Hobbit (Part One) Rev. Alice will be teaching a course on the Christian themes and spiritual messages found in the story. Expect the conversation to increase your understanding of this wonderful tale, and to help you experience its universal themes more deeply in your own life. Please read the book before attending. We will use David Steindl-Rast’s book The Music of Silence as a jumping off point for how to incorporate prayer into the everyday events and moments of your life.
